Wife Begs Court To Dissolve Her Marriage Over Husbands Rascality

A 29 year-old housewife, Memunat Wahab, on Monday, begged an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve her three-year-old marriage to Yusuf, for being a troublemaker. Memunat, who resides at Baboko area of the state, explained to the court that her husband was in the habit of causing trouble. She alleged her husband had fought every member of their neighbourhood, adding that at times he get involved in street fights. “My husband behaves like a thug and fond of constituting a threat to every member of our environment,” Memunat said. The petitioner also accused her husband of keeping bad companies who influenced his behaviour in a negative way. Memunat, who revealed that their marriage was contracted in 2011 and was yet to produce any child, further cited an instance when Yusuf was attacked and stabbed by thugs in March 2013 because of his hooliganism. “My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I cannot afford seeing him implicating me with his thuggery behaviour,” she said. The defendant did not object to his wife’s request, but prayed the court to grant it without any claim. “My wife always complains, I need not to force myself on her since there is nothing to show for in our union,” Yusuf said. The Presiding Judge, Yusuf Abdulkareem, dissolved their marriage and gave the plaintiff a certificate of divorce.
