Breaking News: Man United Sack Moyes

Manchester United have shown their manager David Moyes the exit door barely 10 months after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson.

Coach Steve Round and Jimmy Lumsden have also reportedly left their post, as player coach Ryan Giggs is expected to take charge of the club’s next game at home to Norwich on Saturday.
Moyes was dismissed at a meeting with executive vice-chairman Ed Wooodward at the club’s Carrington training ground on Tuesday morning (8:00am)

Speculations were rife on most British tabloids on Monday that the Glaswegian, chosen by Ferguson to succeed him after 26 years of meritorious service, was on the brink of exit before the end of the season following the disgraceful 2-0 defeat at his former club Everton. The club had previously refused to comment to the BBC on the development.
A club statement confirming an abrupt end to Moyes’ six year deal signed last summer said: “We would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role.
The Old Trafford outfit reached an all-time Premier League points lows this season, with four matches left to the conclusion of the season.
Moyes penned a six year deal in July and has struggled to stamp his influence in the United dressing room and dugout, winning 27 of his 51 matches, drawing 9 and has lost 15 (6 of whom were at home). The defending champions currently sits seventh in the league table with no sign of clinching any trophy this season, having lost out in the FA Cup, and Champions League and knocked out of the League Cup in the semis.
The ‘Red Devils’ are also prepared for football outside the European Champions League for the first time since 1995 and are on the verge of missing out on the Europa Cup altogether for the first time in 24 years.
United’s best display, as argued by the Scot, came in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite competition, were they were knocked out by holders Bayern Munich.
In March, some disgruntled supporters chartered a plane to fly overhead the club stadium trailing a banner with the words: ‘Wrong One- Moyes Out’- a reference to the banner launched by the club’s Stretford End supporters that proclaimed Moyes to be the ‘Chosen One’- during the league win over Aston Villa.
Claims of a rift between the ousted coach and members of his squad was however another low in his short reign at the club.
Moyes left Everton after 11 season without, having won any major piece of silver ware aside guiding the club to a top-eight finish in almost ten seasons and failing to qualify for the Champions League after finishing fourth in 2005.
He started his United rein by claiming the Community shield, courtesy of a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletics and beat Swansea in his first Premier League game in charge of the champions.
But things went from bad to worse with defeats at Liverpool and Manchester City.
Neverless, United endured a difficult summer transfer window and failed in their bids to land Barcelona duos Thiago Alcantra and Cesc Fabregas.
The Move to land Everton duo of Marruane Fellaini and Leighton Baines in a double bid met waterloo as the Goodison Park outfit dismissed the approach as “derisory and insulting” by their ex-boss, although Fellaini eventually switched lanes to join the 50-year-old at United but has as well failed to make an impact.
