Shola Ameobi says Newcastle FC need strengthen its squad in the summer.

The ‘Magpies’ have not recorded a win in their last five Premier League games and they currently sit ninth in the table.
“We need quality players and we need a quality squad as well,” the veteran striker, who has been at the St. James’ Park for 14 years, told BBC Newcastle.

The Tyne side club has lost some of its players to injuries. They travel to fourth-placed Arsenal next Monday, hoping to put behind last weekend’s 2-1 home loss to Swansea.
“We have limited resources at the moment and when we lose one or two key players it hurts the team badly,” the Nigeria international added.
“That is what the manager has had to put up with unfortunately.”
Ameobi will be out of contract this summer and had said he could depart Newcastle for greener pastures.
